Stephanie Durante – Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers

Stephanie Durante

Stephanie Durante

Bio

My name is Stephanie Durante, owner of Kiss My Mutt Training (opened 2016) based out of Toronto, Canada. My training approach integrates the principles taught in the LEGS course, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of how learning, environment, genetics, and self shape each dog. I regularly work with dogs experiencing behavioral challenges, helping them gain confidence and develop a stronger bond with their guardians.

I’ve been deeply involved in the dog world for over a decade in multiple different facets – between training, rescue, grooming, veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, show rings – and I will forever be a student of dogs! Personally, I have 2 dogs – a 85lb rottweiler border collie mix & a 5lb chihuahua! Some of my passions are continuing education (I’m always enrolled in some sort of animal studies), hiking, travelling, yoga and meditation.

What do you believe you can bring to the board and the organization?

I’m great at considering variables, holding space for opposing perspectives objectively and outweighing pros and cons of different circumstances. I appreciate clear, considerate and productive conversations. I’d hope to bring some creative ideas and collaborative efforts!

Why would you like to serve on the CAPDT Board?

I stand behind CAPDT’s mission and would love to contribute! I’d especially hope to one day participate in the curriculum aspect of CAPDT if possible!
