CAPDT Annual General Meeting

Legacy Pathway Presentation

Join Jessica Eden O’Neill, PSNC Chair, for an important presentation on the upcoming Legacy Pathway to Registered Dog Trainer (RDT) status through the Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

This special pathway is being developed to recognize experienced trainers who have built their careers through years of hands-on practice, continuing education, mentorship, and demonstrated contribution to the profession.

The presentation outlines eligibility expectations, documentation requirements, timelines, and how the Legacy Pathway connects to the national registration process and examination.

Attendees will also learn how this initiative supports the advancement of:

✔️ professional standards
✔️ public trust
✔️ national recognition for qualified dog trainers across Canada

This is a valuable opportunity for current and aspiring professionals to understand how their experience may align with the future of the industry.

Past Conferences & Events

Dogs and the City

A 3 day conference continuing the conversation on how to best help our urban dogs. The conference is centered around exploring the influence of city life on dogs. It caters to a diverse audience, including dog owners/guardians, shelter workers, veterinarians, vet techs, walkers, dog daycare attendants, groomers, and trainers.

Renowned industry leaders shared insights on the escalating behavioral challenges, their underlying causes, and a plethora of effective strategies to aid in addressing these issues.

Dogs and the City

We were proud to be co-hosting Dogs and the City in Toronto this last year with EduCanine. Over 3 days, we learned from Dr. Kristina Spaulding, Emily Strong, and Sam DeJong.
