What do you believe you can bring to the board and the organization?

I bring a unique blend of expertise in service dog training, behavior consulting, and business development, alongside a deep commitment to education and advocacy in the dog training industry. With over a decade of experience, I have worked extensively with individuals with diverse abilities, developing training programs tailored to real-world needs. My background in healthcare and non-profit leadership allows me to contribute a well-rounded perspective on accessibility, ethics, and community engagement.

As a business owner and educator, I have experience in curriculum development, mentorship, and public outreach, which can support professional development initiatives within CAPDT. My goal is to help
strengthen the organization’s impact, ensuring trainers across Canada have access to high-quality education, resources, and advocacy that uphold ethical, science-based training practices.

Why would you like to serve on the CAPDT Board?

I am passionate about raising the standards of dog training in Canada and ensuring that trainers, clients, and service dog handlers have access to the best education, support, and ethical guidance possible. Serving on the CAPDT Board would allow me to contribute my expertise, help shape policies and support fellow professionals in their growth.

Additionally, I believe in the power of community and collaboration. CAPDT plays a crucial role in bringing trainers together, advocating for the industry, and promoting evidence-based training methods. I want to be part of that mission helping to drive positive change, foster inclusivity, and support trainers in making a meaningful impact in the lives of dogs and their handlers.
