David Marshall
Director-at-Large
Owner & Head Trainer at CompleteK9
David Marshall is the Owner and Head Trainer at CompleteK9 and has more than 25 years of experience working with and training dogs and their people. His interest in dog training began with his own German Shepherd and soon grew to helping friends and neighbours with their dogs. Following his retirement from policing, David pursued his passion professionally and became a certified dog trainer, completing training through Penn Foster University, The Good Dog Academy and The Dunbar Academy.
Committed to ongoing professional development, David has pursued additional training in areas including service dogs, companion dogs and complex behaviour cases. He has experience training companion animals, service dogs and scent detection dogs, and has worked with service dog handlers as they train their own dogs toward certification.
David also mentors other dog trainers and values collaboration with fellow professionals to help ensure dogs and their people receive appropriate support. He currently serves as a Director with both the Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the Canadian Association of Service Dog Trainers and participates in collaborative work toward national standards for service dog training.
David also serves as an Assessor for the BC Service Dog Certification Exam on Vancouver Island.
