The committee’s mission is to support CAPDT’s voice on working dog issues in Canada and provide Canadians with current, relevant information and resources.

Working Dog Committee

The Working Dog Committee oversees issues relating to working dogs across Canada, including regulations, licensing, inquiries and access to relevant, up-to-date information. The committee helps CAPDT stay informed about developments and ongoing concerns affecting working dogs and their handlers.

Working Dog

What We Do

The Working Dog Committee monitors ongoing concerns, developments and news relating to working dogs in Canada and helps ensure CAPDT’s working dog information remains accurate and up to date.

Experience owning, training or handling a working dog is strongly preferred but not required. The committee typically meets online every one to three months, with additional meetings as needed and collaboration taking place electronically between meetings.
