The committee’s mission is to support CAPDT’s voice on service dog issues in Canada and provide Canadians with current, reliable information and resources.
Service Dog Committee
The Service Dog Committee oversees issues relating to service dogs across Canada, including regulations, licensing, public inquiries and access to accurate, relevant information. The committee helps ensure CAPDT remains informed about developments that affect service dogs, their handlers and trainers.
What We Do
The Service Dog Committee reviews and updates CAPDT’s service dog resources, stays informed about relevant Canadian news, regulations and legislation, and identifies ongoing issues that may need to be brought forward to the CAPDT Board.
Experience with having or training a service dog is preferred but not required. The committee typically meets online quarterly, with additional meetings as needed and collaboration taking place electronically between meetings.
